There is a fabulous new blog called Born This Way, and I submitted a picture of myself to it, where it was published on January 17. In addition to the picture they posted, my mother sent a few more, which I am sharing with you here. Fabulous!
Here I am in (probably) 1985 with my teacher's board and glittery-streamer baton on Christmas morning, and below that, playing a fey round of mini golf.

Oh my god! I had that EXACT blackboard, with the Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy on it.
My dad used to sneak into our room when we were sleeping and leave messages on it overnight. The messages were from the 'Mystery Horse' (who could apparently write on chalkboards, even with hooves.)
Years later, after the stand had been demolished, I used to use the board as a portable puzzle table. It was the perfect size, and the edges kept the puzzle pieces in well when moving it around.
It's the velveteen rabbit of chalkboards. I don't know where it is now, but I'm sure it's out there somewhere in the woods, frolicking with other real, wild chalkboards...
Cute!
I don't want to tell you how old I was in 1985. Boo!
